Working as a physical therapist assistant one injury that is always prevalent among all ages is back pain. Most people have experienced some back pain in their life for one reason or another. There is some evidence that suggests inversion therapy may help relieve back pain.

What is inversion therapy? Inversion therapy is simply hanging your body upside down in some fashion. You can do this with an inversion table, gravity boots or if physically capable, by doing a handstand. The idea behind it is taking pressure off of the spine that gravity places on our spine everyday. There is still more definitive research that needs to be done and there are some medical conditions/precautions to be checked before attempting this.
